In this class we will learn all about the country of Denmark. We will focus our time on a famous writer from history, Hans Christian Anderson. The writer of many beloved fairy tales.

In this class we will travel back in time to visit a profound time in history, WWII. Our students will learn about this historical event and how it impacted German, all of Europe and the entire world.

We will learn about famous individuals that lived during this time and how this even shaped history.

When in Germany, one must go sight seeing. On our list are the amazing castles that enrich Germany’s land.

We will spend time learning about Neuschwanstein Castle and others. Our students will take time to learn about these amazing and historical landmarks.

Hallo, Hillsiders! We are so excited to adventure into Germany with you. 

In this class, we will introduce the country of Germany to you by learning about the language, landmarks, flag and more.

We will also spend some time learning about a famous composer from Germany, Beethoven.

Switzerland is known for chocolate because of its history of innovation and the quality of its ingredients.

So of course, we must have a Swiss chocolate day. We will learn about the history of chocolate, why it was and is still important to the culture today.

We will complete class with a review of Switzerland and a yummy chocolate snack.

Get ready to bundle up and head for the Swiss Alps!

Our students will get a wonderful introduction to the culture, landmarks and history of Switzerland.

We will be completing a topographic map for our activity which will model the elevation of the Swiss Alps.

Our Valentine’s Day exchange is always so sweet.

We will take time this day to learn about God’s love for us and for each other.

Students will create their own unique valentine’s box to hold the valentines they receive from their peers.

When learning about Italy you must experience traditional gelato.

Join us for a fun meet up to sample some delicious gelato and fellowship together.

The rich culture of Italy includes amazing works of art. Students will focus on an artist study during this class.

We will be learning about various artists from Italy, identifying their art, and recreating some of their most famous pieces.

Pizza, Pizza! Can you even learn about Italy without making pizza?

Our students will learn about the history of pizza in Italy and learn life skills as they create their very own culinary creations.

This introductory class will cover the ins and outs of Italian life. We will be working with maps, identifying the flag, discussing the currency, and exploring the landmarks of Italy.

We can’t wait to celebrate the birth of our Savior with you. We will be spending time learning through God’s word and worship time through hymns.

Yummy food and games await! It will be a joyous end to our Fall semester.

When learning about England, one must have a tea party. We can’t wait for this class with our students.

We will be covering historical figures in England, tea etiquette and more!

Great Britain is home to many wonderful authors and the amazing stories they have created.

Our students will be diving into an author study together while getting to practice their own creative skills.

How do you do Hillsiders? We can’t wait to adventure to Great Britain with you.

We will be exploring the regions that make up Great Britain including: England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Students will be working with maps and “visit” unique landmarks of the region.

Our first class field trip of the season will take place at the only French Bistro in Kingsport, TN.

You can’t visit France without a trip to an authentic French Bistro and Market.

During this class, students will be reviewing geography, sampling the culinary treats of France and experiencing the atmosphere of a French market.

France is home to beautiful art and famous artists!

Our students will get a chance to immerse themselves in these historical and beautiful paintings as they travel to the famous Louvre Museum in Paris, France.

Bonjour! An exciting day awaits as our students visit the beautiful country of France.

We will spend this day covering the landmarks and architecture of France.

In our Exploring Spain class we will dive deeper into the culture of what makes Spain unique.

We will spend our time learning about the importance of “Toro” in Spain, discussing the role of the matador, sampling traditional Spanish churros and recreating our own La Tomatina.

Our students will also listen to the wonderful read-aloud, The Story of Ferdinand by Munro Leaf.

Be sure and dress your kiddos for messy play today and bring a change of clothes!

Hola! Students will be traveling to the amazing country of Spain.

We will spend time visiting the amazing landmarks and learning about the incredible culture and architecture.

Students will complete an artist study on Antoni Gaudi and recreate a beautiful piece of artwork.

We can’t wait to see you on our first day of class for the 2024-2025 school year!

Students will begin their European journey by packing their trunks and stamping those passports. They will experience a sampling of European snacks and complete some simple mapwork.

We will have a complimentary photographer on-site for those sweet back to school photos so be sure and dress accordingly.

Please make plans to attend our back to school parent meeting at the GPF outdoor pavilion for all updates and information about the 2024-2025 school year.

We will be discussing important policies and procedures, classroom expectations, curriculum and our school calendar.

It’s time to celebrate!! Hillside is out for summer!

We are thrilled to be hosting and celebrating our students and their families at the Grace Point Fellowship worship center, Friday, May 17th at 6:00 PM. Everyone’s invited, parents, grandparents, and friends!

All students will be participating in a brief program showcasing their hymns and memory work for the year. Families will get to experience “A Day in the Life at Hillside”.

All our Kindergarten students will be participating in a Kindergarten graduation and receive a diploma.

Following the ceremony, we will have “gallery walk” where students can showcase their work throughout the year. It will be a sweet time for all our families!

Has it really been an entire year?! It’s hard to believe. We are so incredibly thankful and blessed by all our families and friends this school year.

We will spend this class reviewing some key components of our school year, practicing for our end of year ceremony, and having fun!

One week of Egypt is simply not enough!

We will continue our journey through ancient and modern day Egypt.

What is a day in the life of an Egyptian citizen like? We can’t wait to find out!

We couldn’t complete our unit on Africa without some real life experiences with the wildlife.
