Our Story

Our story begins with an event. An event so life changing, so miraculous that it shifts your world onto a new axis. When my first daughter was born it changed me. My goals, ambitions, and desires became about her and how to be the mother God called me to be. Finding Apricity is the essence of my motherhood and our homeschool journey. I felt the call to help others and share our story so that it may bring joy and fellowship to mamas in all walks of motherhood and homeschool.

About Us

 

As a former public-school teacher, we came to the world of homeschool strictly through God’s call to our family. When contemplating school options with our little one nothing seemed to fit. Homeschool offered our family the freedom, flexibility and fun environment we wanted to provide. Homeschool can provide the individualized and tailored teaching for your child that is unrivaled. Who knows your student better than you? No one.

We felt that other families may be going through similar circumstances with their children. Should I homeschool? Where do I start? How do I find balance? What types of lessons do I want to teach? At Finding Apricity, we want to provide advice, encouragement and resources throughout our journey to help you.

Our goal is to model a simple, engaging and loving homeschool environment that can work for everyone. We want to create a love of learning that lasts a lifetime and inspire our children to think critically, ask questions and investigate the world around them.

Before Finding Apricity, I was a Registered Nurse turned high school Health Science teacher. I have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and an Education Specialist degree. My nursing background was in public health, and I have taught in both brick and mortar and virtual education for the past six years.

We live on a farm in East Tennessee where we enjoy playing outside, reading books and enjoying the beautiful scenery of God’s creation.
